Retail Sales Assistant – Womenswear

Full-Time Position | Including Weekend Work

We're looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join our womenswear team at Claytons of Bedford.

Established in 1905, Claytons is one of Bedfordshire's leading independent clothing retailers, offering a carefully selected collection of quality fashion brands alongside the personal service we're known for.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has a genuine interest in fashion and takes pride in helping customers look and feel their best.

The Role

You'll be joining our friendly womenswear team, helping customers discover our collections, offering honest advice and ensuring everyone enjoys a welcoming and personal shopping experience.

Your responsibilities will include assisting customers, developing product knowledge, maintaining attractive displays, processing deliveries and supporting the day-to-day running of the department.

About You

You'll be friendly, confident and approachable, with excellent communication skills, a good eye for style and a genuine enthusiasm for customer service.

You'll enjoy working as part of a team, be reliable and organised, and take pride in maintaining the high standards our customers expect.

Previous experience in fashion retail would be an advantage- but not essential.

Hours & Benefits

This is a full-time position, working five days per week, including weekend shifts.

Our opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 9.00am–5.30pm, and Sunday, 10.30am–4.30pm.

We offer a competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience, together with a uniform allowance and a friendly, supportive working environment.
